Been a while

Posted: June 28, 2011 in Uncategorized

It have been a while since I have posted but I have gotten in a few games (lost almost all of them, but learned quite a bit).  Also, I dug up my old Khador and Everblight models and added a couple of things to each of them.

An interesting thing that I am noticing is that for no good reason I am feeling a bit of frustration.  I honestly think it is because of residual feelings from when I quit before (way back in the middle days of mark 1 when things were starting to spiral out of control).  I thought that maybe adding a new warcaster and couple of units might help combat it, but it is pretty well logged in my head.  However, I am absolutely loving the game in spite of it.

So, what am I going to do about it?  Well, I am selling off quite a bit of 40k/Fantasy models.  Enough for a whole new army and a whole new start.  I have decided to do one of the Minions forces.  The Farrow to be exact.  I absolutely love what fluff I have read and the look of the models.  Besides, there is a mad scientist there so that is fully awesome.

It is a whole new start with a whole new army that didn’t even exist when I was playing before.  You can’t get much more clean slate that that.  The models should arrive sometime next week and I am doing a really really slow grow league with a friend or two where we are starting at 15 points and then just switching casters with the same models to really make sure we get things down.  Then we will probably just be adding a unit or a beast or a jack every few weeks.  I’ll definitely post them up when I get them going.

I am very excited -you might even say I am in hog heaven.  Yeah, you saw that coming, but that is an appeal of the Farrow – shameless and horrible puns 😉

And just to give you an idea of the awesomeness that is coming…

I have been lax in posting

However, that doesn’t mean that I have been neglecting the Iron Kingdoms.  Indeed, quite the opposite.  I dug out the old Khador and decided to give them a spin around the block.  Also, Shep has been running Cygnar (eHaley, damn her) and we have been playing a decent amount.

Also, we have been using some Vassal.  The interface is a bit wonky at first, but once you get it down it is a pretty decent representation.  It is nice because it has been letting me try out some new lists with models I don’t own (and create quite the shopping list as a result…)

I had intended to do several of the battle reports from the games, but frankly, I am still so new that I am having trouble remembering what happened when.  This is not a problem I ever had with 40k.  I guess I just have to use more brain power on this.  I am sure once I get the models/cards down it will be a bit easier.

So really this is just a non-update update just to say I am still alive, and still interested and still moving ahead full, er, steam.
